Mediators: You must be entirely comfortable and confident with the Mediator selected. You may be surprised to learn that many mediator appointments come about by word of mouth, yet with little or no understanding of the mediators credentials. Crucially what, if any , background commercial experience they may have, their skills in understanding business problems and the ability to finesse solutions in the same way as many business transactions are closed. Above all the mediator must have the gravitas and presence to manage difficult relationships and hostile situations.
Evaluative: Traditional mediations are passive, with the mediator trying to extract the solution from the parties. At PDR we take the opposite approach and use our vast business experience to work with the parties, and help to construct a platform from which an acceptable solution can be found.
Confidentiality will always be observed however that does not mean shying away from difficult topics of conversation.
Mediation should be a pro-active and interactive process, not just built around what the mediator has been told, but what he or she has learnt from their examination of the case.
We encourage the advisor and/or the client to speak to us first, without charge and determine whether our mediators are right for your case.
Understanding Conflict: We use the three-tier technique as a framework for settlement in order to learn about the clients and their situations, understand their objectives and hear about the problems.
Mediation Sessions Our extensive experience will enable us to identify real solutions, many in a single working day, with a series of one-to-one interactions and if necessary combined.
Managing the outcome You will never be pressured into settlement. Any agreement will be your decision alone. There is always flexibility.
